Where Imagination Meets Creation…

Founded only in October 2023 by Principal Kerrie Walters who is a freelance theatre practitioner and producer. Having obtained her BA in Drama and Education and postgraduate qualifications in community led theatre , Kerrie has a career spanning 25 years within the theatre industry which has seen her work with major theatres and theatre companies such as Royal Opera House and The Royal Shakespeare Company.

After the Covid 19 pandemic, Kerrie took the decision to continue Elective Home Education with her own children and wanted to put her skills to use in a way that serves the Home Ed community as a whole.

Kerrie's vision was to offer a provision that specialised in devised theatre and bringing history to life through drama to support the academic development of the home educated youngsters accessing her provision.

Our  current cohort of home ed performers that make up our elite performing company are aged between just 8 and 13 years old  and relish the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment to bring their ideas to life.

Pegasus Performing Arts registered as a CIC  in September 2024 with its key aims to serve the children and young people of corby with a high quality yet affordble provision and to actively promote Corby's rich heritage.

Whilst Pegasus has its roots in Home Ed, its a key focus for us to provide an inclusive service to all areas of the local community.

On 4th August 2024, a group of 14 EHE children from Pegasus Performing Arts in Corby travelled to Stratford Upon Avon to perform their original show Not This Tide!

This show was a project dear to each of their hearts as the show was one that they had written and devised by themselves.

Using Rudyard Kipling's poem , MY Boy Jack as the stimuli , the children developed a tale about a fictional Jack and his journey to War.

The show also looks at the role of gender and the theme of grief.

Impressive as it is to write your very own play when you are aged 8-13 , what made the project all the more impressive was the fact that it was to be performed at The Holloway Garden Theatre, Stratford Upon Avon.  They battled noise pollution from every source on the day and pulled off two extremely professional shows.

We are extremely proud of what our young company has achieved this year with Not This Tide! and plan to continue to develop new writing in the future.
